Our Assessments

We offer thoughtful, child-focused assessments to better understand your child’s individual needs and provide clear, practical guidance to help them grow, learn, and thrive at home and in school.

How our assessments can support families and children

Assessments aren’t just about diagnoses or labels. They’re about understanding your child more clearly, including how they think, learn, feel, and interact with the world. Whether you’re looking for answers, clarity, or a way to better support your child at school or home, a well-chosen assessment can provide practical guidance and peace of mind.

Our assessments help you understand your child’s unique strengths and challenges, so you can move forward with greater confidence and the right supports in place.

A cognitive assessment helps uncover how your child learns, thinks, and solves problems. It’s a useful tool for better understanding their strengths and needs. Our process includes:

  • An initial completion of our service questionnaire, which can be completed via email or with your psychologist, either in-clinic or via video call. This questionnaire helps us in ensuring we are meeting your family’s aims for the assessment (approximately 1 hour)
  • Contact with your child’s educator, either by phone or email (30 minutes)
  • A 1 to 1.5 hour in-clinic session with your child, using a standardised intelligence test (WISC-V, WPPSI-IV, WAIS-IV)
  • A detailed written report
  • A feedback session to explain results and next steps (1 hour in clinic or via phone call)

A cognitive assessment can help support school planning, guide access to learning supports, or contribute to diagnoses such as intellectual disability or giftedness.
